The workout screen
The workout screen is something you read and tap while you’re tired, between sets. Two things exist for that.
Rest timer
Section titled “Rest timer”A timer for the rest between sets sits pinned to the top of the workout screen. Scroll through your exercises all you want — it stays in view.
Turn it on or off under Settings → Rest Timer.
Starting it
Section titled “Starting it”- Tap a preset — 1:00 / 1:30 / 2:00 / 3:00 — to start
- The last length you picked becomes the default from then on
- By default it starts the moment you log a set (Add Set, or confirming a weight and reps). Prefer to start it yourself? Turn off “Start automatically after logging a set” in Settings
While it counts down
Section titled “While it counts down”- Tap the countdown to pause or resume
- +30 adds thirty seconds, for when you want a bit more before the next set
- Stop returns it to idle at any time
- Your screen won’t auto-lock while it’s counting down — so the time is still readable when your hands are busy
When it hits zero
Section titled “When it hits zero”- A haptic tells you (no sound)
- It then counts the overtime up — “+1:20” — so a rest that ran long shows up as a number
- After five minutes it returns to idle on its own
The timer holds an end time, not a remaining count. Background the app, lock the screen, come back — the time left is still right.
Text size
Section titled “Text size”Settings → Text Size sets the size of the set display (weight × reps) across seven steps, XS to 3XL. A live preview in Settings shows what you’re picking.
The sizes follow the system text size (Dynamic Type) too, so if you’ve already scaled iOS up, Kitae scales with it.
